At long last, almost two months after I initially announced them (and had expected them to be available), my two first recordings with the High Coast Vocal Ensemble are available on every major streaming and download service!

Both Det finns en väg till himmelen and O vos omnes are available now for streaming and/or purchase from the following digital services (in alphabetical order): Amazon Music, Apple Music, Deezer, Spotify, Tidal, and YouTube Music.

Additionally, the Nordic music publisher Gehrmans has the scores to both pieces on sale now on their website. Click on either cover below to go straight to that song’s article page on Gehrmans’ site.

This week, like most of July, has otherwise mostly centred around house renovations. The outer wall on one side of the house had suffered fairly severe water damage which has required some fairly extensive work.

Besides needing to remove all of the old wall colour from the cladding that has not been affected by rot, I had to take out all of the internal wall construction along an entire side of the house that had been severely damaged. A few days ago, I also discovered a horde of ants had taken up residence inside the damaged section of the wall, but hopefully I will be rid of them as well, now.

I have also gotten invaluable help from some good friends, each with fairly extensive renovation experience. When I was fretting over this project and (literally) had trouble sleeping due to anxiety, they were able to calm me at least somewhat and helped me make a plan.
Now, a fair ways into doing the actual job, having gained plenty of understanding and new skills, I feel a lot calmer, even excited about continuing and finishing up before the end of summer.

That isn’t to say I haven’t taken the time to enjoy the fruits of summer – both literal and figurative – as well. It has been entirely necessary to get some well-needed rest and to try and recover as much as possible after the intense and taxing winter and spring. But now, things are looking up. And before long, this blog will return to its regular, music-centred content. There will be a lot to talk about in the coming months.
